Something has been bothering you for a while and won’t go away.

An ear that won’t unblock, hoarseness that lasts for weeks or a nose that won’t let you sleep. People often put up with it for too long before someone takes a proper look.

You don’t need to know what you have. Tell us what you notice and since when: we will guide you.

See what we treat

What you notice, and what we do in clinic.

The same symptom can have different causes. That is why we start by understanding how it began and examining the area, not with a prescription.

01

Ears, hearing and vertigo

What you notice

  • “My ear has felt blocked for days”
  • “My ears are ringing”
  • “Everything spins when I get up”
  • “I can’t hear as well as before”

What we do

  • We examine the ear and, if needed, test your hearing with an audiogram.
  • We remove earwax in clinic, without cotton buds or home remedies.
  • We investigate vertigo to tell whether it comes from the ear or elsewhere.

If you suddenly lose hearing in one ear, don’t wait for it to pass: get it checked the same day.

02

Nose, sinuses and smell

What you notice

  • “I can’t breathe well through my nose”
  • “I’m always congested”
  • “I’ve lost my sense of smell”
  • “My face hurts when I bend down”

What we do

  • We examine the inside of the nose with a thin endoscope, in the same appointment.
  • We distinguish rhinitis, sinusitis, polyps or a septum problem.
  • We explain which treatment makes sense and when to come back.
With the ENT team
03

Voice, hoarseness and vocal cords

What you notice

  • “I’ve been hoarse for weeks”
  • “I lose my voice by the end of the day”
  • “I’m a teacher and my voice can’t keep up”
  • “They found a nodule”

What we do

  • We watch your vocal cords vibrate, not just how your voice sounds.
  • We distinguish nodules, polyps, cysts, paralysis or a problem with how the voice is used.
  • If needed, we coordinate therapy with Speech Therapy or consider surgery.

Hoarseness lasting more than four weeks deserves a look at the larynx. Sooner if you smoke, have a lump in your neck or find it hard to breathe.

04

Throat and difficulty swallowing

What you notice

  • “I feel something in my throat that won’t go away”
  • “I often choke”
  • “I find it hard to swallow pills”
  • “I keep clearing my throat”

What we do

  • We examine the throat and larynx to find the source.
  • If there is dysphagia, we assess how you swallow and the risk of choking.
  • We coordinate swallowing rehabilitation with Speech Therapy.
With the ENT team
05

Snoring and sleep apnoea

What you notice

  • “My partner says I snore a lot”
  • “I wake up tired even after sleeping”
  • “I stop breathing at night”

What we do

  • We check the nose and throat in case something is blocking the airflow.
  • We advise you on a sleep study when it is indicated.
  • We explain the options depending on the cause.
With the ENT team
06

Children’s ENT

What you notice

  • “My child keeps getting ear infections”
  • “He snores and breathes through his mouth”
  • “I don’t think she hears well”
  • “They’ve mentioned grommets”

What we do

  • We examine calmly, adapting to the child’s age.
  • We assess hearing with tests suited to children.
  • We explain whether treatment, monitoring or a second opinion is needed.

Don’t see your problem? Tell us in the form and we will let you know if it is one for ENT.

When surgery is needed, it is done by the doctor who examined you.

Dr. Gotxi operates on the larynx and vocal cords. Before talking about theatre, we look at the lesion, how the cord vibrates and how it affects your daily life.

  1. MonitorIf the finding allows it
  2. Voice therapyWith Speech Therapy, sometimes avoids surgery
  3. In-clinic procedureNo conventional surgery
  4. SurgeryWith a clear goal

Laryngeal microsurgery

Vocal cord lesions

Usually under general anaesthetic and through the mouth, with no incision in the neck. The lesion is removed while protecting the vibrating tissue, because your voice depends on it.

  • Nodules
  • Polyps
  • Vocal cyst
  • Sulcus vocalis
  • Reinke’s oedema
  • Papilloma
  • Leukoplakia

Her specialty

Paralysed vocal cord

A vocal cord injection guided by laryngeal electromyography, to improve closure and recover a stronger voice. Dr. Gotxi presented it as a speaker at the Taiwan Voice Society congress (2024).

  • Vocal cord paralysis
  • Hyaluronic acid in the vocal cords

Voice and gender

Voice feminisation and masculinisation

Surgery to bring your voice closer to your identity, always assessed together with voice therapy in Speech Therapy.

  • Wendler glottoplasty
  • Type III thyroplasty

Have you been advised to have surgery? Bring your reports and images and we will give you a second opinion. Each operation is quoted separately, after the assessment.

What happens when you walk through the door.

The visit adapts to what brings you in. Not every appointment needs the same tests: they are chosen according to your symptoms and what we see.

  1. 1

    Listen

When it started, how it has changed and how it affects you at work, when sleeping or speaking.

  2. 2

    Examine

We look at the area involved: ear, nose, throat or larynx, with an endoscope when needed.

  3. 3

    Explain

We show you what we have seen and tell you whether treatment, a test or simply monitoring is advisable.

  4. 4

    Review

If needed, we see you again to check how things are going and adjust the next step.

Questions before you come.

We are not an emergency service. If you find it hard to breathe, suddenly lose hearing, have vertigo with neurological symptoms or significant bleeding, go to A&E or call 112.

How much does an ENT appointment cost?

A first private appointment costs €150 and a follow-up €90. Tests, procedures and operations are quoted separately, after the assessment.

Do you work with my insurance?

We work with IMQ, Lagun Aro and Mapfre, as well as private appointments. Cover depends on your policy: tell us when booking and we will confirm it.

Do you see children?

Yes. We treat recurrent ear infections, snoring, mouth breathing and concerns about hearing, with an examination adapted to the child’s age.

Does all hoarseness need surgery?

No. Many cases improve with medical treatment or voice therapy. First we need to see the larynx and understand the cause; surgery is only considered when there is a clear goal.

Can I ask for a second opinion?

Yes. Bring any reports and images you have: they help us focus the appointment.

Do you remove earwax?

Yes, in clinic and while looking inside the ear. Avoid cotton buds and don’t put anything in if you have pain, discharge or suspect your eardrum may be damaged.
